Sacred Heart College has reclaimed the A Division crown at today’s major swimming carnival, held at Perth HPC in front of a vibrant crowd both in the stadium and tuning in via the live stream.

Defending champions John XXIII College once again delivered a strong performance to secure second place, while the ever-consistent Newman College rounded out the podium in third. Newly promoted from B Division, Kolbe Catholic College impressed in their entry to the top tier, finishing a commendable fourth.

This year’s event was further elevated through the support of the WA Institute of Sport (WAIS), with two outstanding local athletes, Alyssa Burgess and Iona Anderson, attending to assist with presentations. Anderson, an Olympian and former gold medallist at both the 2023 Junior World Games and 2024 World Aquatics Championships, brought elite experience to the day. Burgess, also on a rising trajectory, is a former ACC athlete from Prendiville College and currently holds the ACC records in the U16 and U17 50m backstroke events.

Special thanks go to Jake Trewin and the WAIS team for facilitating the involvement of these exceptional athletes. As an added highlight, the winning school will be rewarded with the opportunity to tour WAIS’s new high-performance centre.

The carnival also delivered remarkable performances in the pool, with numerous records set and broken—including one that had stood for an incredible 34 years. Full details of these achievements are listed below.
